Clarence City Band

The Clarence City Band serves the community by fostering and performing music, providing opportunities for developing and accomplished musicians to participate in a supportive environment, share and advance their skills, and perform at civic and other community events.

For beginning players (10 years of age to adult) we offer the opportunity to learn an instrument, read music, develop listening skills and experience what it is like to be part of an ensemble. Parents, this is an ideal opportunity for you to learn an instrument alongside your child.

For players with some experience we operate a structured development program. This allows you to step into a band that matches your skill level. Each band within the development program has an extensive repertoire of music and performance opportunities throughout the year.

Experienced players may be able to join one of our performance ensembles: the Clarence City Concert Band, Big Band, Brass Ensemble, or Crosswinds. A number of performance and competition opportunities exist for these bands.

You may even like to book one of the Clarence City Band ensembles to play at an event that you are organising.

As a community band, supported by the Clarence City Council, we aim to give back to the community. You may have heard us playing at Australia Day on the Bellerive Boardwalk, the Lindisfarne Anzac Day Dawn Service, the Richmond Highland Gathering, or one of many Christmas Carol events including Richmond, Risdon Vale, South Arm, and Sorell.
